Holidays 2007
In spite best intentions, we did not get holiday cards out this year. I was just getting over my morning sickness (baby #2 due May 20th!) when it was time to start preparing for Christmas, and I just didn't have enough energy or time to pull it all off. So instead we hope you'll enjoy these shots of our time in the Pittsburgh area and know that we wish you peace, health, and happiness in 2008!
David and I have both been facing some intense work schedules, so the week we took off between Christmas and New Year's was VERY welcome. We spent 6 days at my mom's home in Renfrew, PA and then another 4 days in Pittsburgh with David's parents. We had intended to split the time evently, but I came down with a bug and we stayed an extra day so I could recover.
You can't be serious all the time....
While at my mom's, we went for a walk in the woods and found an entire deer skeleton. Here are some of the bones that we recovered. Breyten loves to explore and has started what he calls "lost and found" boxes at each of his grandparents houses.
David poses with Breyten's ENORMOUS stocking. We had hoped to get a picture of Breyten with it (it was taller than he is), but he got downstairs and tore into it before any grown-up with a camera could stumble down the stairs.
Breyten loves to take pictures. Here he hones his digital macro skills on his new Chick Hicks car.
While in Pittsburgh, we went to REI to shop for a new ski jacket for me (for next year since there will be no skiing this season for me!). As it turned out, they had a rock wall, which Breyten conquered.
Breyten takes a break from flying his glider planes at the Farmhouse playground (where David went to Kindergarten) in Pittsburgh.
On New Year's Eve, we went to downtown Pittsburgh to ice-skate. It was Breyten's first time, and he did a great job. Although it took him quite a while to circumnavigate the rink, he and David managed to make three passes around.
